Chief Development Officer, North America

Chris Taylor is one of the founding members of Element Power and is the Chief Development Officer of North America.  Chris began his career in renewable energy in January 2002 as one of the initial employees of Zilkha Renewable Energy, which was acquired by Goldman Sachs in 2005, becoming Horizon Wind Energy and later EDPR. At Horizon, Chris was Director of Development for the Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions, leading the development of over 675 MW of wind projects that are now in operation or approved for construction; he also led the creation of a development pipeline of over 3,000 MW. Chris has served on numerous boards, including Renewable Northwest Project, Association of Washington Business, and the Oregon Conservation Network, and he presently serves on the board of AWEA’s WindPAC. In 2008, he received the AWEA Achievement Award for Advocacy for his leadership on successful RPS campaigns in Oregon and Washington. His previous positions have included Manager of the Oregon DEQ’s solid waste and recycling program, Legislative Director for an environmental group, and Peace Corps Volunteer in Côte d’Ivoire. Chris received a BA magna cum laude in Politics and Economics from Amherst College and an MPA from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.
