Element Power announces the completion of a 5.4 MWp solar PV plant located in Saint Martin Lalande, in Aude Province, France. The greenfield project, solely developed, financed and implemented by Element Power’s France team, is operated in partnership with Triodos Bank, known for its sustainable investments.
Covering 17.5 hectares, or approximately 43 acres, the 59,600 thin film silicon modules that were mounted began producing electricity at the end of February 2011 and are capable of delivering the renewable energy to approximately 2,300 homes. Also constructed is an interpretive center, informing visitors about photovoltaic technology and local biodiversity.
Element Power Asset Management (EPAM), a subsidiary of Element Power, is providing the asset management services for the project. EPAM currently manages 61 MW in wind farms and over 62 MW in photovoltaic plants for international investment funds and the Element Power Group throughout Europe.
