Pedro Barriuso is a founding member of Element Power, joining the team when Helium Energy, the renewable energy company he established in 2006 with a group of former Iberdrola Directors was acquired in 2008 by Hudson Clean Energy. Helium Energy now forms part of Element Power. Pedro has over 14 years experience in the renewable energy sector, first with Acciona Group and then Iberdrola Renovables, the second largest utility in Spain. It was during his tenure as General Manager of Renewable Energies, Engineering & Construction Units that saw Iberdrola go from being a fairly minor player in the market (400MW) to one of the most well-known and successful wind organizations with 4000MW in operation and real development opportunities in several countries exceeding 15,000MW. Prior to this, Pedro held a number of senior positions at organisations ranging from McKinsey & Co to the Celsa Group. Pedro holds a degree in Geological Science from the University of Basque Country as well as a Masters in Economics and Business Management from the IESE Business School at the University of Navarra, Spain.
